Statement of Intent 2022
Hello Planet Earth!
We've submitted our SOI (statement of intent) letter to placement to indicate that Planet Earth intends to return to the playa in 2022, and we are very excited.
With that task done, we next need to have our initial meeting for PE for 2022. We plan to have this event at Josh & Jenn's house in Richmond on Feb 27th. There will also be an online meeting happening as well. Everyone is invited to this meeting. The only limit being the safe capacity at Josh & Jenn's house the rest of the people can join us online. I know we've all had a long time away from the playa, this meeting is by no means a commitment that you will be joining us in 2022. This is meant to be our kickoff for things like talking about our goals in 2022, size, budget, tasks, expectations, repairs, etc. But we do know a lot of people are missing the playa so we do expect a lot of interest this year.
And I will be asking people if they are committed or what % committed to being in PE 2022, but that's really just to get a rough idea. But we do have a immediate task (see more later) of the Steward ticket sale.
We've got some unknowns this year. Our stuff has been in storage for almost 3 years now. We need to figure out if everything is good (maybe a container trip)
The Stewards ticket sale (formerly DGS, formerly EA) will open for camp registration on Feb 23rd (before our meeting) but goes through March 4th. After that, the sale is from march 9th - march 11th. These tickets are no big hassle to get. We do need to get all our Steward ticket allotment, so we will be counting on people to commit to at least buying those.
There are a number of things to think about, and I'd like your help in doing so. Some new questions that immediately pop to mind are things like:
'What can PE do with the steward tickets if the event is canceled?''What can PE do if someone gets sick while at the event?'
Also some oldies but goodies:
'What are dues this year?'
'What about power?'
etc
We will probably have some proposals already during the meeting, but we also want to listen to people's ideas. It also may be worth while in sharing ideas here on this thread before the meeting.
